Matthew Humes graduated from McGill University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems. While at McGill he played on the McGill Varsity Hockey team as a goaltender. After graduation Matthew worked for EDS working mainly on IT projects for General Motors. Joined DD Humes in July 2002. Attained IQPF Financial Planning Designation in May 2014.
Lives in the West Island of Montreal with his Wife and 4 children. Still plays hockey himself and enjoys both road and mountain biking. Will fit in the odd golf game in when he can.
Community involvement
Was past president of the CPE Whiteside Taylor Board of Directors, and past treasurer of the Baie D’Urfe Aquatic Club.
Is an active coach with Lakeshore Soccer and Lakeshore hockey.
Charity Work:
Is a membre of « Les 100 Gens Qui S’Impliquent » (www.100gensquisimpliquent.com) – an organization that raises money to support local charities in a unique way.
Active supporter of « Kurling For Kids » (www.kurlingforkids.com) – Raising funds to help hospitals provide leading edge medical treatments, programs and equipment for our children.
Active supporter of “Hockey Helps the Homeless” (https://www.hockeyhelpsthehomeless.com) – working towards a future where every Canadian has a place to call home. Funds the work of over 40 homeless support agencies that share the goal.
